Como había dicho, este fin de semana estuvo completamente
dedicado al cine, y aunque me hubiese gustado ver más películas de las
nominadas a los Oscar de este año, desgraciadamente solo pude ver la que os
traigo a continuación, La chica Danesa.
Tenía muchas ganas de verla desde hacía tiempo (desde que mi
madre me sugirió ver el tráiler y aún no estaba en español). Habla sobre la
vida del pintor Einar Elbe y su matrimonio con la también pintora Gerba Wegener.
Gerba encuentra su éxito en las pinturas que había hecho a su marido vestido de
mujer. Así surge poco a poco Lily Elbe, pero lo que parecía un juego entre
ambos artistas acaba por convertirse en la verdadera realidad de Einar. Una de
las primeras personas sometidas a operación para el cambio de sexo.
Me ha encantado el papel de Eddie Redmayne como Lily (más
que como Einar), y una genial Alicia Vikander como Gerba. Como contrapunto he
de decir que me esperaba algo más, más introspección en la mente del/la protagonista
Lily/Einar. Me imagino que, pese al camino de rosas que se nos aparece en la
película, el hecho de aceptar dicha realidad y llevarla a cabo no sería tan
sencillo como parece a simple vista ( esto es una suposición basada en el hecho
de que todavía hoy en día en muchos lugares cuesta aceptar la realidad del
transgénero).
La valora con un 8 que me sabe a poco porque me esperaba
quizás algo más.
As I told you, last weekend was completely dedicated to watching films. Though I
would have liked to watch more Oscar nominee movies, unfortunately I just could
watch the one I’m bringing you today, The Danish Girl.
I’d been
anxious to watch it for a long time (since my mother suggested watching the
trailer and it wasn’t translated yet). The film is based on true story once
again and it is about the Einar Elbe’s life, a successful painter and his marriage
with Gerba Wegener, also a painter but not as successful as her husband. But
Gerba finally has success painting Einar dressed in woman clothes. This is how
Lily Elbe comes up, someone who Einar has been feeling and hiding inside. Elbe
was one of the earliest people to carry out a sex-change.
I loved
Eddie Redmayne as Lily, (I liked him more as her than as Einar), and I really
think that Alicia Vikander is sooo great in her role. Therefore, I have to
admit that I hoped for something else, introspection in Lily/Einar’s mind or
whatever. And despite the whole road
seems to be so easy for them to face what it would be a problem in that time, I’m nearly sure it really wasn’t as easy as they want us to
show ( this is just an assumption based on the fact that even nowadays in some
places the sex-change is not well accepted).
Anyway, I
liked it so I will say that is an 8, but I would expect it to have been a 9
instead.
