La semana pasada hablando sobre cine se nombraron varios de
esas películas que en los últimos años todo el mundo, o casi todo el mundo ha
visto, menos yo. Y por tanto, durante el fin de semana intenté ponerme al día
con alguna de ella. La primera de esta lista es RocknRolla. Una película de Guy
Ritchie sobre mafiosos.
Un magnate ruso llega a la ciudad de Londres con el único
propósito de montar un negocio de compra de terrenos de forma ilegal. Los
mafiosos y estafadores de la ciudad, atraídos por el botín, tienen a bien
intentar llevarse parte del pastel. Cada uno con su estilo, tenemos un pez
gordo burócrata, su hijo rockero desaparecido, una contable inteligente y hasta
una banda que aunque parezcan bastantes chapuzas, acaban por ser eficaces.
Decir que no me disgustó es quedarse corto, pero tampoco es
una película que me haya hecho vibrar. La historia me gusta por la temática de
mafiosos, los engaños, secretismos y malas jugadas que unos y otros se dan
entre ellos. Te atrapa e imbuye en el ritmo frenético de la historia, en las
persecuciones y en los enredos entre personajes. Supongo que para muchos seguidores
del director fue el gran regreso del hijo pródigo, yo no me considero fan de
Guy Ritchie y quizás eso distorsione un poco mi valoración.

Talking to
some Friends last week about cinema they mentioned some of those films who
everybody had already watched in the last few years, everyone but me. So during
the weekend I tried to catch up on some of them. The first movie of this list
was Rock N Rolla, a Guy Ritchie film.
A Russian
magnate arrived at The City with an only purpose, building a business of selling
lands illegally. The mobsters and fraudsters from London, attracted by the
loot, start to make their plans. Everyone has his own style; there is one
bigwig from the red tape, his son, a famous start of Rock and Roll who is
missing, a smart accounting and a group who are effective even though they seem
to be sloppy.
I doubt
about my opinion of this movie. I liked it for sure, but I don’t know, I think
that something was missing through the movie. In any case, the plot I liked it
and also the topic: mobsters, secrets, lies, plots… these are the kind of
topics which keep me on the edge of my sit. But what I liked the most was the
frenetic rhythm along the movie. I guess that for many people who are fan of
this director this is his Great Return. On the other hand, I’m not, and maybe
that is why my score could be distorted.
