En tierra hostil/ The hurt locker

Siempre me han gustado mucho las películas bélicas y últimamente estoy viendo bastantes que tenía apuntadas en la lista desde hacía tiempo. El pasado jueves por fin pude ver En tierra hostil, dirigida por Kathryn Bigelow.

En tierra hostil habla sobre la tensa guerra en Irak. En una ciudad plagada de bombas, y de enemigos el cuerpo de artificieros tiene una ardua labor. El sargento Thompson (interpretado por el famoso Guy Pearce), el sargento Sanborn (Anthonie Mackie)  y el especialista Eldridge (Brian Geraghty) forman un tándem perfecto en este duro escenario. Pero el primero es asesinado al intentar desactivar un artefacto explosivo y es reemplazado por el sargento James ( Jeremy Renner). James no es un sargento al uso y sus métodos, tan diferentes de su predecesor no gustarán demasiado a su nuevo equipo que se cuestionarán seriamente su seguridad pocos días antes de ser relevados.  

Es refrescante ver de vez en cuando películas de otras guerras que no sean la segunda guerra mundial, pero particularmente, me han gustado más otras. Me cuesta creer que pueda ser verdad la temeridad convertida en locura del sargento James, máxime en un territorio como el nombre de la película indica, tan hostil. No obstante en ninguno momento se me ha hecho pesada sino todo lo contrario.

Mi puntuación es un 7.

I’ve always liked very much war movies and recently I have watched some of them from my list. Last Thursday finally I watched The hurt Locker, directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

The hurt locker is set in Iraq during the war. In a city riddled with bombs and enemies everywhere, a group of explosive experts has an arduous labor. Sergeant Thompson (Guy Pearce), sergeant Sanborn (Anthonie Mackie) and specialist Eldridge ( Brian Geraghty) form a great team all together. But the first one is killed attempting to defuse an explosive device. Sergeant James takes his place. However his methods do not like his new group and they start questioning his safety few days before they leave.

It is refreshing watching a movie which is not about Second World War every now and then, but personally, I liked others more than this one. It is barely unbelievable that the Sergeant James could be so bold, even push the limit with madness, especially in a place as hostile as reveals the name of movie in Spanish. Anyway, it was not boring or long, otherwise frenetic and thrilling.

So my score it is 7.
